Supporting the Distance Learning (PJJ) activities in the new normal era, Pupuk Kaltim presents
Learning from Home program (BDR). It is a video show of learning through a local television media, Public Khatulistiwa Television (PKTv). This program was launched by the Mayor of Bontang, Neni Moerniaeni, with CSR Manager of Pupuk Kaltim, Fakhri Husaini, at the Mayor's Hall on Wednesday (5/8).
Fakhri explained that besides supporting the Distance Learning program (PJJ) in an effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19, this program is also Pupuk Kaltim's step in creating interactive and fun learning activities for students in Bontang through a media show that can be accessed from home with parental assistance.
This Distance Learning (BDR) program collaborates with Bontang Education Office for the learning curriculum. This program involves the Association of Kindergarten Teachers of Indonesia (IGTKI) and the Association of Teachers and Early Childhood Education Personnel (Himpaudi), targeting Kindergarten (TK) and Playgroup (PAUD) students in Bontang, especially around the Company.
The delivery of learning materials (live or recorded) by the teacher is adjusted to the curriculum. The students can interact with questions and answers on the material presented. Through the program, children can also get assignments from the teacher and the results of the work are reported by parents to the teacher in the form of photos, writings, pictures or videos to be assessed. "For those who do not have gadgets or have difficulty in buying internet quota, the Distance Learning (BDR) program through this television show can be an alternative," said Fakhri.
The implementation of this program lasts for 1 semester with 120 shows which consist of 3 shows of Learning from Home program (BDR) socialization for parents with duration of 1 hour of monitoring, as well as 117 times of material shows. This Learning from Home program (BDR) is broadcast 5 days a week with the distribution of show schedules; 3 days for early childhood students (PAUD) and 2 days for Kindergarten Students (TK). The shows are broadcast alternately with duration of 1 hour per show. "This is a solution for children's education during Covid-19 pandemic. Even though the face-to-face learning cannot be done offline temporarely, the teaching and learning process can still run well,”added Fakhri.
Neni Moerniaeni expressed her gratitude and appreciation for Pupuk Kaltim's contribution towards children's learning through Learning from Home program (BDR), especially at kindergarten (TK) and early childhood levels (PAUD). This program supports Simpel JAGO (the Learning System of Champion, Active, Global, Optimistic) initiated by Bontang Government, in implementing PJJ or online learning during Covid-19 pandemic. She assessed that learning through television media was an effective step that could be accessed by all levels of society, so that children remained active in learning with parental assistance from home. "Thank you for Pupuk Kaltim's support through this program because learning from home (BDR) is one of the solutions for children's learning at this tough condition during Covid-19 pandemic. Hopefully, the spirit of teaching for early childhood (PAUD) and kindergarten (TK) teachers can make Bontang children grow well in character, "hoped Neni. (* / ram / nav)
