PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (PKT) has a number of programs in the field of OHS as part of implementing an integrated and sustainable OHS Management System. These programs are carried out not only to meet the company's OHS targets, but also as a concrete manifestation of PKT's commitment to maintaining business continuity by minimizing potential incidents that can impact worker safety, assets, and operational processes, as well as creating a safe and comfortable work environment.

Following are some priority OHS programs that have been implemented by PKT in an effort to create Zero Accident and a sustainable safety culture across all company operational lines.

This program focuses on implementing PSM principles across all PKT business processes to prevent incidents that have the potential to cause major impacts on worker safety, assets, and the environment.

Improving the effectiveness of response systems and detection of fire potential in PKT factory and office areas. Integration is carried out to ensure all fire detection devices are connected and monitored in real time at the Fire & Rescue Command Center.

Ensuring all PKT work partners implement an OHS management system that complies with company standards. Through CSMS, PKT ensures that every job carried out by third parties remains within the established safety corridors.

Identification of potential hazards in production processes through Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies, as well as assessing safety protection layers (Safety Integrity Level – SIL) using the Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) method. The goal is to ensure that the applied protection systems are adequate to prevent process safety incidents.

Ensuring the readiness of all employees, emergency response teams, as well as emergency facilities and infrastructure, in dealing with emergency conditions such as fires, explosions, and chemical leaks or spills.

OHS audits are carried out to assess the effectiveness of implementing the OHS Management System in all PKT work units.

PKT consistently conducts certification for workers and work equipment to ensure personnel competence in carrying out work and work equipment worthiness has met the established safety requirements.

Basic OHS training program for all personnel at PKT such as work safety procedures, risk and hazard recognition, use of PPE, and emergency response so that all personnel at PKT have the same basic understanding regarding OHS aspects.
