About CSR
PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (Pupuk Kaltim) remains consistent in its implementation of sustainability practices in the form of flagship programs covering the environment, energy efficiency, and community development and empowerment. Between 2017 and 2022, Pupuk Kaltim won the National Gold Proper Award and other awards such as an Indonesia Sustainable Development Goals Award, and an Indonesia Green Award. Through these awards, Pupuk Kaltim demonstrated the complete and sustainable management of the company to all stakeholders.
Pupuk Kaltim’s Corporate Social Responsibility programs demonstrate the company’s commitment to community development in accordance with Law No. 40 year 2007 regarding Limited Liabilities Company Article 74 about Corporate Social Responsibilities. The commitment is packaged in the form of community development programs oriented to improving the quality of the community and environment. Pupuk Kaltim has undertaken this continuously and consistently, especially in the affected areas. The CSR program aims to improve the community living standard such that the existence of the company has a positive impact on the community

In implementing its CSR strategy, Pupuk Kaltim has consistently and continuously adopted the global standard in CSR, i.e., International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 26000:2010, and contributed to the achievement of sustainable development targets in the form of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As an open and ethical form of effort and behavior, the Pupuk Kaltim CSR program refers to six (6) pillars to demonstrate the accountability and transparency of each program. The six (6) pillars are:
- Pupuk Kaltim’s human capital development is committed to creating a reliable manpower, both internal and external, and empowering the society through community development.
- Pupuk Kaltim’s economic reinforcement is committed to empowering the potential of local resources to build the community economy around the company.
- Pupuk Kaltim’s development of synergy and partnerships is committed to synergizing the resources of the company, community, and government to create harmonization.
- A commitment to implementing the GCG principles by strengthening corporate governance in conducting the company’s business.
- Striving to maintain environmental sustainability through sustainable environmental management.
- Enhancement of the company’s public communication to increase positive attitudes and build a positive image to the public.

Pupuk Kaltim’s commitment to performing a sustainable CSR program is demonstrated through the issuance of BOD Decree No. 69/DIR/IX.2012 regarding the Pupuk Kaltim CSR Policy that stipulates:
- Pupuk Kaltim’s CSR is integrated into the company policy, through CSR planning, implementation, reporting, and publication.
- Pupuk Kaltim’s CSR approach emphasizes the strategic partnership of academics, business, government, and community.
